How can eating durian (the king of fruits) increase your blood cholesterol level?

There is no cholesterol in durian as cholesterol is only produced in an animal's body, including us, human; but not produced in plants and fruits.

However, you need to be aware of durian being a rich calorie fruit.
One cup (serving) of durian, about, 243 grams contains 357 calories.
One durian fruit (about 602 grams) contains 885 calories.

Other than eating durian, you usually still have your daily meals; And normally, one lunch meal (e.g. One chicken burger+french fries+orange juice) may contain about 1000 calories, while one dinner meal may contain about 1000 calories too.

If your age is between 31 and 50 years old (Note: you can find an online calories calculator at http://www.nutrition.com.sg/ha/hacalcal.asp), you are recommended to get around 2000 calories from what you eat & drink per day.
Getting more calories than what is needed can lead to overweight/obesity which indirectly can increase blood cholesterole level. So, eating durian (especially if too much, too frequent and regular) would potentially result in accumulated excess of calories.

That is how durian can cause increase in the blood cholesterol level.

Hope that clarifies how durian can be harmful to our health.
